A Delray Beach doctor who was the center of the largest medical malpractice verdict in Palm Beach County history has agreed to give up his medical license after the state accused him of prescribing controlled substances while his license was on inactive status.
More than four months after the Maryland General Assembly met in an emergency session to grant doctors relief from their spiraling insurance costs, the promised help has yet to arrive -- and now might not reach most doctors for several more months.
