Doctors can tap malpractice fund
The check is in the mail for 1,200 doctors in high-risk medical specialties whose malpractice premiums have risen steeply. The first payouts from a fund created last year as a legislative compromise to help physicians cope with rising malpractice rates were mailed Tuesday.
