Suits curb HCA hospital's services
HCA Inc. says a West Virginia hospital can't recover from bad press after malpractice claims against a former doctor. On Tuesday, HCA said it would stop offering inpatient services at Putnam General Hospital in Hurricane by Aug. 29. It wants to convert the 68-bed hospital into an urgent-care center.
