GMC member guilty of misconduct
An eminent member of the General Medical Council (GMC) was yesterday found guilty of serious professional misconduct for failing to disclose a conflict of interest in dealing with acase of medical malpractice.
Plaintiffs’ desire to verify contested calculations regarding the staffing ratio at a hospital sued for malpractice did not amount to “extremely good cause” for deposing opposing counsel, the Fourth District Court of Appeal ruled yesterday.
