Ex-senator urging changes in U.S. health care system
The American health care system is broken and threatening the country's economic well-being, John Edwards, former vice presidential candidate, said Tuesday night. They need to be held accountable for frivolous lawsuits that help drive up the cost of malpractice insurance.

WASHINGTON (MarketWatch) - The Senate on Monday effectively killed two Republican-backed bills designed to limit medical-malpractice awards, after Democratic and GOP lawmakers took turns attempting to portray the other party as a tool of nefarious special interests.
