State Ruling Upends Burden of Proof
Washington state Supreme Court rules plaintiffs suing criminal attorneys for malpractice must prove own innocence, in reversal of traditional burden of proof.
D.C. Doctors Urge Malpractice Reform
Washington (AP) - Doctors who practice in the nation's capital say they're being forced out by the rising cost of malpractice insurance. The Medical Society of D.C. says 88 percent of obstetricians and gynecologists it surveyed last year have moved or plan to move their practice out of the District.
