State's doctors, lawyers agree on malpractice charges
OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) -- Doctors and trial lawyers have agreed to some changes to the state's medical malpractice system, less than four months after pummeling each other with multimillion-dollar initiative campaigns. Link to original articleDemocrats thwart malpractice bill
Democrats in the House again defeated an attempt by Republicans to revive a bill aimed at reforming the state's medical malpractice laws. The reforms are backed by Gov. Linda Lingle, who urged lawmakers this week to keep the measure alive.
