OUR VIEW: Approve caps for malpractice pain and suffering awards
Members of the Wisconsin Assembly have approved a new proposal to impose caps on “pain and suffering” awards in malpractice cases. Now the Senate should pass the same bill, and Gov. Jim Doyle should sign it.
Craddick says trial lawyers want new speaker to remove malpractice caps
Speaker of the House Tom Craddick said Wednesday that dissident representatives who tried to replace him last January and again in May are backed by trial lawyers who want to repeal the lawsuit reform he sponsored in 2003.
