Circuit adopts rule to seek settlement in med mal cases
EDWARDSVILLE — A new rule to require parties to attempt an early agreement in medical malpractice cases in Madison County got subdued approval from people on both sides of the issue Monday.
Insurer's directors pay: $18,500 to $42,000 annually
Most of the directors of the company set up by the Legislature to provide medical malpractice insurance in West Virginia received pay ranging from $18,500 to $42,000 last year, according to a report filed with the Offices of the Insurance Commissioner.
Broker charged with bilking a second widow
WHITE PLAINS - A former New Castle stockbroker whose license was stripped late last year for fraudulent transactions has been charged with grand larceny for allegedly bilking an elderly widow out of the proceeds of a malpractice settlement she was awarded as a result of her husband's death.
