MedPro again lowers malpractice rates for Texas docs
One of the state's largest medical malpractice insurers will reduce rates by another six percent July 1.
In a rare move, a state oversight board for real estate appraisers has accused one of its own members of malpractice. Christopher Cochran of Spartanburg and his firm Two Day Appraisals are accused of overvaluing land near Lake Keowee in Oconee County, according to a complaint by the Real Estate Appraisers Board.

Doctors are returning to the state Legislature this year to urge enactment of limits on noneconomic damage awards in malpractice lawsuits, which they blame for skyrocketing insurance rates.
