Wisconsin Supreme Court strikes down malpractice cap
The Wisconsin Supreme Court s decision to remove the cap on settlements in medical malpractice cases based on the case of an 8-year-old town of Abrams boy has medical officials forecasting higher costs and a greater shortage of physicians.
Healey, candidate for governor, proposes malpractice overhaul
(Boston - AP) - Lieutenant Governor Kerry Healey is proposing an overhaul of the state's medical malpractice laws. Healey says malpractice insurance rates are driving doctors out of business or prompting them to practice what she calls defensive medicine.
