Jury finds doctor not guilty of medical malpractice
By a 10-2 vote, a Fayette County jury decided Tuesday that a doctor at a Connellsville hospital was not negligent during a 2003 surgical procedure in which a Hempfield Township woman died.
Medical-malpractice-lawsuit bill awaits Sanford
COLUMBIA - Legislation limiting lawsuit awards in medical-malpractice cases is heading to Gov. Mark Sanford's desk. The legislation, expected to be ratified and sent to Sanford today, sets a $350,000 cap on pain-and-suffering awards in medical-malpractice lawsuits.
