The medical malpractice legislation considered by Illinois lawmakers Monday attempts to lower doctors' malpractice insurance rates with changes to the legal system, insurance regulation and doctor discipline.
Museum gets $100,000 malpractice settlement
The museum's bankruptcy trustee had threatened to sue attorney William C. McIntyre, who had once worked on the museum's behalf. In a letter to McIntyre's malpractice insurance company, the trustee, Soneet Kapila, estimated McIntyre was responsible for up to $544,000 in damages to the museum.
