A jury has awarded a Lee County woman $8.25 million after she lost both her breasts in an alleged botched plastic surgery, her attorney said. Christy Allis was awarded the money this week as part of a medical malpractice lawsuit, according to her attorney Jeff Garvin.

A New York attorney who ducked and weaved for years to avoid paying a malpractice judgment was given a second chance last week, but with conditions. Federal Judge Denise Cote sentenced David A. Dorfman to two years of probation for criminal contempt, a charge that was brought only because the judge became so frustrated with Dorfman that she asked prosecutors to intervene and indict him.
