Miss. Supreme Court agrees to hear medical malpractice case
The Mississippi Supreme Court has agreed to determine whether faculty physicians at the University of Mississippi Medical Center are protected from lawsuits involving their private patients.
Appeals court rejects ruling tossing verdict
St. Lucie Circuit Judge Ben Bryan was wrong to throw out a $2.2 million malpractice verdict against a doctor whose failure to see an elderly patient likely led to the man's death, a West Palm Beach appeals court ruled Wednesday.
Physicians urge governor not to veto malpractice bill
After fighting alongside Gov. Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. for malpractice reform, leaders of the state's doctors and hospitals stepped away from the governor yesterday, urging him not to veto the malpractice bill passed by the General Assembly last week.
