Orange County Jury Awards $11 Million in Medical Malpractice Case
A 45-year-old man who suffered a stroke because doctors failed to treat an infection that spread to his brain was awarded $11.7 million in damages by a jury. The jury awarded the judgment to Joey C
Doctors can tap malpractice fund
The check is in the mail for 1,200 doctors in high-risk medical specialties whose malpractice premiums have risen steeply. The first payouts from a fund created last year as a legislative compromise to help physicians cope with rising malpractice rates were mailed Tuesday.
