Governor Signs New Law Capping Malpractice Suits
ALTON, Ill. - Gov. Rod Blagojevich on Thursday signed a new law that attempts to hold down steep medical malpractice costs for doctors by limiting the amount of money people can collect in lawsuits against hospitals and physicians.

INDIANAPOLIS - Indiana doctors and hospitals will catch a break on the rates they pay to support a malpractice payout fund starting next month. But the deal probably won't translate into lower patient bills.
