Hospital giant could escape John King liability
The hospital company employing the former Putnam General Hospital surgeon facing dozens of malpractice lawsuits may be free of liability in the suits under a federal court ruling issued last week.
WINFIELD — Putnam General Hospital failed to carefully examine the credentials of Dr. John A. King when it granted King staff privileges, and should be liable for punitive damages in the dozens of malpractice cases faced by King, a jury said Tuesday.
