Lingle pressing House on malpractice reform
Gov. Linda Lingle, state House Republicans and the Hawai'i affiliate of the American Medical Association are trying to pressure the chairwoman of the House Judiciary Committee to hear a medical malpractice reform bill before the session ends next week.
The medical malpractice climate in Florida is discouraging medical students from pursuing careers in obstetrics and gynecology - a trend that could further reduce patients' access to obstetric care, a survey by the University of South Florida College of Medicine found. [click link for full article]
Attorney asks jurist to reconsider judgment in malpractice case
An attorney for the Hazleton law firm that lost a $3.4 million legal malpractice case in February filed a petition Tuesday asking a Luzerne County judge to strike or reconsider the judgment.
