New malpractice proposal has eye on rates
CONCORD — The Senate Judiciary Committee passed a version of medical malpractice reform that would allow a three-member panel to review cases, but limit use of their findings in court.

In a move designed to help cover doctors practicing obstetrics at Curry General Hospital, the Curry Health District's Board of Directors increased the district's malpractice insurance by $10 million, at an additional cost of $76,000 annually during the meeting held on Wednesday, October 25.
