St. Luke's, doctors settle malpractice lawsuit for $1.8 million
Medical professionals and the wife of a sports writer for the Reading Eagle-Times who died in St. Luke's Hospital, Allentown campus, in 2002 have settled a medical malpractice lawsuit for $1.8 million.
SPRINGFIELD More than a year after it began, the debate over medical malpractice legislation remains plagued by political divisions and seemingly endless complications and twists.
Patient sues Barker for $600,000
First witnesses are expected to be called today in a malpractice suit against Pratt surgeon Dr. Pat Barker. Mary Ann Rojas of Pratt is seeking $600,000 for medical expenses plus pain and suffering. Rojas claims Barker did not act skillfully as a surgeon during a hernia operation in 2003.
