False-Positive Jury Award Nixed
The Appellate Court of Illinois, suggesting that a person who received a false HIV-positive diagnosis may not have suffered enough of a physical injury to be entitled to compensation, reversed a $350,000 jury verdict on October 12 and sent Mark Jones' medical malpractice case back to the Cook County Circuit Court in Chicago for a new trial.
