Are Texas' malpractice damage limits healthy?
Four years ago, Texas limited how much patients could win in a medical malpractice lawsuit. Since then, doctors, patients and lawyers have seen many of the changes predicted by both sides in that bitter debate come to pass.

In December 2004, former inmate Kimberly Grey filed a federal lawsuit against PHS, the jail's former medical director and the sheriff. Grey gave birth over a jail toilet in March 2004 after complaining for hours that she felt ill. Her infant son died en route to a hospital.
