Committee drops proposal to use malpractice funds for deficit
MADISON, Wis. - The Legislature’s budget committee voted Tuesday to nix the governor’s plan to take more than $179 million out of Wisconsin’s medical malpractice fund to help balance the state deficit, saying it was not an appropriate use of the money.
