OLDWICK, N.J.—Captive insurers’ net premiums dropped 15% between 2006 and 2007 and the trend may be towards further weakening, a new report reveals. Falling medical malpractice premiums at 177 captives surveyed by A.M. Best Co. led the decline. Those writings were down 26% for the period.
