ARH patient awarded $11 million in malpractice claim
PINEVILLE— In January, 2002, Jennifer Powers underwent an appendectomy at Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital (ARH) and returned home to recuperate, oblivious to a fact that a Bell County Circuit Court jury thinks Powers’ pathologist should have known and made Powers aware of: She was a sitting duck for appendix cancer.
