One of Chicago’s pre-eminent law firms could face a malpractice lawsuit and the loss of a major client over its conduct in a Florida fraud case. Morgan Stanley, a Wall Street investment bank, notified a judge in West Palm Beach, Fla., that it wanted to replace Kirkland as its law firm in the case.
