MEDICAL MALPRACTICE PAYMENTS
In response to a lawsuit filed by The Record, the state Division of Consumer Affairs has released information on malpractice claims paid by insurers on behalf of New Jersey licensed physicians over the five years between March 1999 and March 2004. State law requires that all such payments be reported to the agency, which has oversight responsibility for the medical profession.
